For all the arguing we do about University, city and state policy, there have actually been a few solid reasons making this year awesome. Here are some of the bigger ones that made this up-and-down year a little more ‘up.’
 
10. Pub nights in the Buzz — once a month for the last few months, we’ve gotten to drink beer in the Buzz. And that’s pretty cool.
9. A whole bunch of groups had pizza nights — and we got pizza legitimately. No sneaking into groups for the free food for us, no sir.
8. Tuition increases suck — so it’s cool to see student action on it.
7. A four-week-long winter break — longer than normal and was filled with great news from Pasadena.
6. Scandals got people interested in the ASUO — now let’s keep them interested without them.@@Man, I am SO interested in the ASUO now@@
5. Movies this summer — starting with the Avengers, there’s actually an impressive lineup.
4. With all the increases in enrollment lately, it seems like it should have been much harder to get into classes than it has been this year.
3. Action on Standing With the Hat — it came from unfortunate circumstances, but it gathered students together which doesn’t always happen.
2. An entire winter’s worth of snow dumping in one night — it sucked for people who had to travel that day, but it’s hard to find snow very often in Oregon.
1. Football winning the Rose Bowl — no explanation necessary.
