Former Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 12th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday evening. Nix, who finished his two-year career in Eugene with a sparkling 2023 campaign that featured a Pac-12 Championship berth and Fiesta Bowl victory, was the sixth QB off the board on draft night.
Nix ends his Oregon career with an exceptional reputation. He is the NCAA’s all-time leader in completion percentage, completing 77.45% of his attempts in 2023. He threw for 8,101 yards, 74 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions since arriving at Autzen Stadium. He was named the 2023 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, and holds the Ducks’ all-time passing touchdown record, and as a Heisman Trophy finalist, he rivals perhaps only Marcus Mariota and Justin Herbert in the program’s recent history.
He’ll move onto a rookie season in Denver that will have Oregon fans’ eyes on him: the Broncos currently roster quarterbacks Zach Wilson, Jarret Stitham and Ben DiNucci. Nix will compete for a spot on the roster from the outset, and only time will tell if he’ll be able to replicate his success in Eugene.
