The Eugene Police Crime Prevention Staff will be offering students crime prevention information next week in an effort to prevent spikes in burglaries during winter break. Advice will include how to make your residence appear less inviting to thieves.
The dates and locations are Nov. 26 at Chase Apartments on Kinsrow, Nov. 27 at Stadium Apartments on Commons, and in front of the EMU on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. Tabling will go from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on all days.
The staff hopes to further decrease the number of thefts in student residences after a previous outreach effort in 2010 successfully cut figures in half. Free hot cocoa will also be offered.
