Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced the season-ending conference awards for NCAA volleyball, and much like the season itself, the results were historic for No. 6 Oregon. @@http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&ATCLID=205785067@@
Headlining the awards, redshirt senior outside hitter Alaina Bergsma was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year after one of the greatest single seasons in program history. From the release:
Bergsma is the first-ever Oregon Duck to be named the Conference’s Player of the Year. The Chandler, Ariz., native has helped lead the Ducks to a second-place showing in the Pac-12, the program’s best-ever finish in league play. She leads the Pac-12 with 4.91 kills and 5.40 points per set, ranking fifth in both categories in the NCAA. She has posted the Pac-12’s top-two kills performances, tallying a career-high 32 in the four-set win over Washington State on Nov. 17, one day after posting 31 in the five-set thriller at Washington.
Bergsma was tabbed the conference’s weekly Offensive Player of the Week three times this year. Miss Oregon USA’s name has crept up Oregon’s all-time records as she prepares for her final collegiate postseason.
Plum, too. One of the reason’s Bergma’s season was so prolific was who was setting her up for all those kills. Junior setter Lauren Plum took the ward for Pac-12 Setter of the Year. The Poway, Calif., native leads the nation with 13.25 assists per set. Plum played a large role in the Ducks’ program-best finish, and helped lead Oregon to No. 1 in the nation in kills per set (15.90). @@http://pac-12.com/Sports/VolleyballW/Statistics.aspx@@

The Women of Troy earned dual honors as well. USC’s Natalie Hagglund and Samantha Bricio earned Libero of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors respectively.
The four players were all named to the All-Pac-12 team, joined by Oregon sophomore outside hitter Liz Brenner. Haley Jacob and Ariana Williams were named honorable mentions for the Ducks.
