On Saturday, No. 12 Oregon men’s golf fell to No. 1 Texas in a seesaw match in the NCAA golf semifinals. The Longhorns clinched the win when redshirt junior Julio Vegas prevailed over Duck senior Andrew Vijarro on the 18th green, giving Texas a 3-2 win over Oregon. The Ducks tied for 3rd in the tournament.
Vijarro needed to sink a put from around 20 feet to extend the match. After a long look and consultation from head coach Casey Martin, he rolled the ball past the hole on the low side.
