The School of Music’s Festival of the Millennium, a celebration of contemporary music from the 20th century, begins today. More than a dozen musical events are scheduled for the two-week celebration. Aside from the Ysaye Quartet, the upcoming week’s highlights include:
Today, 8 p.m. — Trio Pacifica. Faculty Artist Series recital, featuring violinist Kathryn Lucktenberg, cellist Steven Pologe and pianist Victor Steinhardt. Beall Concert Hall. $7 general admission, $4 students and seniors.
Friday, 8 p.m. — Oregon Wind Ensemble. University ensemble, under direction of Robert Ponto. Beall Concert Hall. $5 general admission, $3 students and seniors.
Saturday, 8 p.m. — Future Music Oregon. Music Technology Program, featuring guest composer Chris Chafe from Stanford University. Music building, room 198. $5 general admission, $3 students and seniors.
Sunday, begins at 2 p.m. — All-Day Music Marathon. New music by local artists. Beall Concert Hall. $3 for all-day admission.
Monday, 8 p.m. — “20th Century Women Composers: A Retrospective in Song.” Faculty Artist Series recital, featuring singer Ann Tedards and pianist Greg Mason. Beall Concert Hall. $7 general admission, $4 students and seniors.
Wednesday, 8 p.m. — Art Maddox and Joan Benson. Guest keyboard artists. Beall Concert Hall. $7 general admission, $4 students and seniors.
