Head coach Paul Westhead announced Wednesday that the Oregon women’s basketball program has signed two new star recruits in Chrishae Rowe and Drea Toler for the 2013-14 season.@@namescorrect@@
Rowe, a shooting guard from Riverside, Calif., and a four star recruit, ranks in the top 20 at her position, 67th in ESPN’s top 100, and was one of the top recruits in the state of California.
“Having the opportunity to play in one of the best conferences in the country, while getting a degree in one of the top sports business programs, was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” Rowe told goducks.com of her decision to become a Duck.
Last year as a junior at Santiago High School, Rowe proved to be a force, posting 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Toler, a quick point guard from Gardena, Calif., averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 steals during her junior year at Serra High School, a team that went 30-4.
A big selling point for Toler was the fast-paced offense designed by coach Westhead.
“I like to play fast and Oregon’s style is to play fast. We both want to get that ball up the court as fast as possible to get that easy bucket,” Toler said.
Both are expected to make big contributions to the team in the next season.
