Market opens inside of Gateway Mall
An indoor market called EuGenius has launched inside of the Springfield Gateway Mall. The market, which started with seven vendors now has about 45.
David Wells, the market manager, originally set up an indoor market in Arizona before making the move to Eugene. The market has the capacity to hold 55 merchants and will be open until the end of winter, according to KEZI.
Eugene couple injured after a car crashes into sub shop
An 84-year-old woman was pulling into a Quiznos in Keizer, Ore., Sunday afternoon when she mistook the gas pedal for the break and crashed through the front glass.
Inside, a married couple from Eugene, Sarah and Steven Grossberg sustained minor injuries. Both were sent to the hospital. Police are still investigating the crash and no citations have been given, according to KVAL.
115 inmates released from the Lane County Jail
The Lane County Jail was forced to release 115 “capacity based” inmates during a seven-day period due to lack of funding.
Starting Oct. 22 the jail released twenty-one inmates who had not served their full sentence and 94 inmates who were pre-trail defendants, according to The Register-Guard.
Eugene police focus on crime prevention
The Eugene Police Crime Prevention Unit is putting together a series of community meetings to inform the public how best to prevent crime in their neighborhoods, according to KVAL.
Sgt. Lisa Barrong will be presenting crime statistics and advice on how to protect yourself from crime. The meetings hopes to make Eugene homes safer.
