Jonny Lang and Curtis Salgado
Blues guitarist and Grammy Award-winner Jonny Lang is coming to Eugene with Curtis Salgado on Wednesday, July 15. Lang, noted for his unusual voice and riveting solos, is a former child prodigy now fulfilling his lifelong ambition. He is joined by Salgado, who was John Belushi’s inspiration for the “Blues Brothers” characters in the late 1970s. The two acclaimed artists offer an evening outdoors listening to live blues. Tickets in advance cost $20, day of show cost $25. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
Symphony in the Park
The Eugene Symphony Association is putting on a free event as a part of its mission to “enrich lives through the power of music,” which includes community outreach performances. The show will include music written by Styn, Gershwin and Tchaikovsky. Music director Maestro Danail Rachev, native of Bulgaria, leads the Eugene Symphony into its 44th season. Symphony in the Park is happening this Saturday, July 18. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Chicago live in concert
Twenty top-10 singles, 12 top-10 albums and record sales topping 120 million are among the many reasons that this jazz fusion and progressive rock band is worth seeing at the Cuthbert. The seven-man band comes to Eugene for one night to represent the ’70s and ’80s in the Windy City. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, and the concert begins at 8 p.m. General admission is $39.
