With colder, more wintry conditions developing in Eugene, flu season is on the rise. The University Health Center is encouraging the campus community to receive flu shots to help prevent the spread of the troublesome virus.
“We take the flu very seriously here. We recommend all students to get immunized for the flu,” said Amy Rowland, a registered nurse at the health center.
“A lot of students have not gotten vaccinated yet this year,” Rowand said.
The health center distributed approximately 3,500 shots last year, according to Rowand. Shots costs $15.
Students and faculty members can receive shots at the Nurse Specialty Clinic, within the UHC. Drop in hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
