It really shouldn’t be any surprise that the most decorated Olympic athlete in history, at 22 total medals, can also claim the title of “fittest man ever.”
Retired United States swimmer Michael Phelps, who won four gold and two sliver medals this past summer at the London Olympic Games, was recently named number one in Men’s Health magazine’s 100 Fittest Men Of All Time. These participants ranged from athletes to movie stars and other fitness icons.
Men’s Health describes the 27-year-old’s Olympic diet regimen as a “grueling” daily five-hour workout and listed what he eats for breakfast alone: 12,000-calories in the morning which includes three fried-egg sandwiches with cheese, one five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast and to top it all off three chocolate-chip pancakes.
Other men who made the list include Bruce Lee at number two, Arnold Schwarzenegger at third, fitness guru Jack LaLanne at fourth and retired football player Herschel Walker rounding the top five.
