Women’s Rugby
The Oregon women’s rugby team was blanked 39-0 by the Ducks’ alumni squad Saturday at Riverfront Field. The older squad converted on seven of eight tries and converted on a few kicks.
“They always come back and work the team,” Sarah Harmon said. “But it was such a fun game of rugby. The alumni were great and played good, solid rugby. It just goes to show that rugby isn’t just a brute sport, or just big hits and pure strength.”
Oregon begins its regular season in September.
Running Club
The Ducks’ running club participated in a 5k road race called “Jog for Jim” on campus Saturday. The run, which brought 19 Oregon runners and members of the community, was put on to raise money for Parkinson’s Disease, which founder of the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center, James Warsaw, was diagnosed with.

Waterski
Two members of the Oregon waterski team competed in the National Collegiate Water Ski Association All-Star Tournament in Bellingham, Wash., at Borderline Lake.
Ashley Lyons, who competed in the trick division, finished 17th out of 27 competitors. Lyons, who came in 10th at Regionals, qualified two weeks earlier in California.
Chris Clark, who also coaches the squad, scored 400 points after landing a 123-foot jump in a collegiate night event, which coordinator Louie Vidmar said has never been done before.
Clark, who was seeded 15th and pitted against the second-seeded jumper, was on of 16 collegiate jumpers in nation who were selected to participate. The jump will be televised on the Outdoor Life Network in June.
