The Oregon women’s basketball team continues to struggle to record its first win. After losing to Arkansas last Sunday 67-79, the Ducks closed out the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown with a record of 0-3. But the loss to Arkansas came with an injury that may plague the Ducks for the remainder of the season. Senior guard Lauren Stanulis injured her knee in the second half against Arkansas after colliding with an opposing player on a steal attempt. With sophomore guard Lexi Peterson out with a torn ACL — not to mention injuries to guard Ariel Thomas, wing Deanna Weaver and post Janitah Iamaleava, the 14-player roster is now down to a mere 7 players. This roster does include redshirt transfer Katelyn Loper and Duck volleyball player Liz Brenner — who is scheduled to join the team as soon as her duties as a volleyball are over — but in regards to the next home game against Denver this upcoming Sunday, the Ducks will definitely be shorthanded.
