Oregon softball beat UC Davis 3-0 and Utah 2-0 to finish the San Diego Classic tournament after dropping its first three games.
The Ducks (8-12) picked up their fourth and fifth shutouts of the season on Sunday in their wins after one-run losses in their first three games.
In the win against Utah on Sunday morning, freshman pitcher Mikayla Endicott (1-2) won her first career game with nine strikeouts, the second straight game she threw for the Ducks after losing 1-0 to Colorado State on Saturday.
Sophomore first baseman Monique Fuiava drove in junior outfielder Neena Bryant on a sacrifice bunt in the first inning when the throw to first was high, scoring Bryant from second.
Fuiava then hit her seventh home run of the season, a solo shot, in the seventh inning to add another run in the win.
The Ducks beat UC Davis in extra innings Sunday afternoon 3-0 when sophomore catcher Kaitlin Vitek drove in the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning with the bases loaded.
Endicott won her second game of the day by pitching the final 2 1/3 innings in relief of freshman starter Samantha Skillingstad, who allowed five hits and zero runs in 5 2/3 innings.
Oregon’s next tournament is the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev., March 6-7.
