In response to “Respecting the Choice,” ODE, 5/21/09:
The biggest problem facing our generation today is this faux idea of moral relativism. That is to say, that one action is punishable for one person, but the same action is acceptable for another. In the debate over abortion rights, you must be pro-abortion or pro-life. There is no “pro-choice” option, for that is the very same hypocrisy that undermines our nation today.
In essence, it bothers me considerably when individuals find it morally unacceptable for themselves to have abortions but find it morally acceptable for others to have abortions (or vice versa). Morality is not based on individual beliefs and not determined on an individual basis. There is only absolute morality for abortion: It is either right or wrong, and you are either moral or you are amoral.
Am I a pro-lifer? Yes. Do I believe in separation of church and state? Yes. Do I believe the government should be involved in our morality? No, but if you’re going to be amoral at least be man (or woman) enough to admit it. The fact is that pro-choice is pro-abortion. You can argue any which way you want, but it still won’t justify the murder of your own children. Morality is not individualized: You are either moral or amoral. Don’t give into the scam that is moral relativism.
Pro-choice is pro-abortion
