The University and popular networking site LinkedIn is offering current students, alumni and the public advice on building a professional network. Seminars will be offered in Portland on Feb. 2, and Eugene on Feb. 3.
The University’s application for iPhones is now available for Android users. The app, called UOregon, gives users tours of the campus, maps of the Knight library, and campus news.
Facebook is requiring all of its 800 million users to adopt its new profile, called timeline. Once users decide to change their profile, they have one week to clean out old and embarrassing statuses or photos before friends can view their timeline.
An article in The New York Times last week reported on the human costs of creating Apple products. The Times talked to workers in China who make iPhones and iPads and found that some work seven days a week, do not receive adequate health care and live in crowded dorms.
